who is Karl Tux?
My mother gave me what I consider to be an unappealing first name. And only because she is fond of initials. The unusual name is Flemish and means “the victory accustomed” (fortunately, she did not choose the German Siegrich).
So be cautious, I’m the typical winner, which is why I don’t play the lottery. Who wants to live the boring life of a millionaire, and the lottery company would go bankrupt? I was born on the outskirts of Miriquidi, in a city dubbed Karl-Tux-Stadt by Linux magazine.
The best Linux distribution for video editing is GNU/Linux
io GNU/Linux provides a wide variety of apps and developer options. It’s based on Debian and runs the Enlightenment desktop environment, with a few KDE applications thrown in for good measure. There is a large software library, and you can choose between a regular and a real-time kernel. io GNU/Linux, unusually, will be one of those distros that can be booted from a USB drive. Instead of installing io GNU/Linux, the plan is to use it in “persistence mode,” which entails copying the distribution to a portable drive and using it on any computer.
