Freelancer.com – Let’s blow the whistle

Januar 4th, 2018 von buergermeister

As I am allways in need of money, I looking fro freelance jobs. So therefore I am member of freelancer.com. From time to time they send me “interesting” projects in my area in kind of newsletter, so I got yesterday also this newsletter with an bid I should look at. It was like to often something, where you dont see how much work it is but you shall give a bi for how much you doing it, so nothing for me. Around 2 hrs later I got an email again from freelancer.com directly addressed to me and written from a person. I took the freedom to answer to this person, how in gods name he figured out that this job offer would fit to me as there is nothing written what shall be to do. I got no answer, but this time I said to myself ok, lets bid and I did. So now I got a clearer job description what I shall do and its this:

I took the freedom and asked the guy when he will pay, after he got the information. Quiet funny to me I shall work for nothing also ^^. But I was already planning to publish this and blow the whistle, but as civilized person I gave freelancer.com the opportunity to give me an answer if they find this is morally right and belongs to their projects. So I contacted the support. After explaining what happen I got a link to foundations why projects get rejected. So if I am seeing that right, freelancer has nothing against being used for such kind of “jobs”. Well the first support employee wanted to have the link to the project so that the “admins” can have a look. She got it and after several minutes she closed the chat, she would have not heard from me. Ok next attempt, after again explaining the support employee contacted the legal team and the project got deleted but for what reason?

Why took this soooooooooo long, 1,5 hours communicating with support of freelancer but the end is interesting, its morally totally ok but it got deleted for being wrong described. The funny thing to me is also they deleted the project (indeed they did) but they kept the “customer” (but under observation hahaa) . Ok judge this all by yourself. For myself I find it not morally right, that such platforms can be used for this and that there is nothing clear written in the rules for the projects about such kind of stuff. I also find it funny that the guy is not deleted, that gives him the chance to communicate with bidders, so on the end oppositional groups and persons might get reported to him. Ok judge that by yourself. And to sad is just, I still need some work to do :D
